Role Description

This role is for a skilled Design Architect based at our Woodstock, Cape Town studio. You will work with a talented and visionary design team to interpret our client’s needs and produce world-class concepts. As an expert in architecture, you will create, refine, and present concepts that prioritize buildability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and develop architectural designs for various projects
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements
• Produce detailed drawings and specifications
• Provide guidance and quality-control support to junior and/or implementation peers.

Personal Attributes

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills.
• Ability to function in a team, at pace.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Qualifying Criteria

• Master’s degree in Architecture
• A minimum of 6+ years with solid, evidential, experience in taking a project through to completion (all Workstages)
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD preferred, but not a deal breaker (you would need to be willing to learn)
• Strong understanding of all the architectural Workstages (must have seen projects through to completion)
• SACAP Professional registration

• This is a Permanent Contract opportunity based in our Woodstock, Cape Town studio.
• The remuneration package, which includes group life cover will be commensurate with experience.

Role Description

Craft of Architecture (COA) is recruiting for two senior roles within our Durban and Cape Town studios.   Successful incumbents will have a minimum of 6 years’ experience with solid, evidential, knowledge in taking a project through to completion (all workstages).

The ability and willingness to mentor team members and to anticipate challenges, processes, and operational constraints would benefit you. Experience and interest in managing your project tasks (micro level) while overseeing high-level project outcomes (macro level) is essential for this role.

Qualifying Criteria:

•  M. Arch (Built Environment)
•  6+ years’ experience, post qualification
•  Experience across all Workstages critical
•  Insights into the Single + Multi High-End Residential + Commercial environments would be beneficial
•  Exposure to team mentoring and/or leadership would be to your advantage
•  Applicants who require work-visa endorsement will not be considered
•  A basic level of proficiency (or willingness to learn) in ArchiCAD would be advantageous
